Ontario iGaming Market Sees Minor April Decline After Record March
Ontario’s regulated iGaming market saw a modest dip in April, with total cash wagers reaching CAD 9.31 billion—a 3% decline from March’s record-breaking CAD 9.59 billion. While the overall betting handle cooled slightly, the sports betting sector delivered impressive gains.
Sports betting net non-adjusted gross gaming revenue (NAGGR) soared by 40% month-over-month, hitting CAD 86 million. Meanwhile, total market revenue across all sectors climbed 5% from March, surpassing CAD 405.4 million. The mixed results highlight both the resilience and volatility of Ontario’s rapidly evolving online gambling landscape.
Despite the minor setback in handle, the market’s growth trajectory remains strong, with revenue figures continuing to rise. Industry observers will be watching closely to see if this trend persists in the coming months.
