Icahn's $34-per-Share Offer for Caesars Revives Year‑Old Talks

Activist billionaire Carl Icahn stepped back into the Caesars Entertainment arena in July, putting forward a cash offer of $34 per share.

The proposal tops the earlier $31‑per‑share bid floated by Tilman Fertitta’s Fertitta Entertainment, but Caesars has so far shown little interest.

Icahn’s bid was the only one submitted during the casino operator’s go‑shop window, a period that allows the company to solicit offers while still under a merger agreement.

The latest overture also revives talks that reportedly began about a year ago, when Icahn first signaled his intent to acquire the Las Vegas‑based gaming group.

Despite the premium, Caesars has not indicated any plans to move forward, leaving the outcome of the deal uncertain.
