F1 Briefly Eyed Back-to-Back Vegas Grand Prix Weekends, Then Hit the Brakes

Imagine two weekends of high-octane Formula 1 action tearing through the streets of Las Vegas! It sounds like a dream for racing fans and a potential boon for the city, and for a brief moment, it was a real consideration for F1 officials.

Formula 1 had been exploring the ambitious possibility of staging back-to-back Grand Prix weekends in Las Vegas later this year. This intriguing idea emerged as part of F1's broader contingency planning for the challenging final stretch of its 2026 season, which faces ongoing uncertainties regarding various race locations.

However, the concept, while exciting, was quickly shelved. After initial discussions with local tourism leaders, it became clear that the logistics and impact of such an undertaking would be too significant. While the allure of a double dose of F1 in Sin City is undeniable, for now, it remains a one-weekend spectacle.
